Welcome to Simplifying…me.

My name is Amy, and I’ve been about this blogging business since 2009.  Much has changed over the past several years.  When I started blogging I was a stay-at-home mom with a toddler, preschooler, and a kindergartener.  Back then I was much better at posting regularly.  These days, I’m a working (outside of the home) mom with a kindergartener and two school-age children, and I am lucky to post twice a year.

While my life has changed, the intent and purpose of this blog has not changed: my desire to grow and become the person God designed me to be.  It’s a process.  It takes time.  There are some posts in here that are inspiring and relatable and there are some that fall flat.  There are those that reflect personal growth, and there are the unfortunate ones that reflect a great deal of insecurity and immaturity (the ones I’d love to delete).  I guess I am slowly growing, slowly finding my voice, and always being stretched.

I am learning to balance marriage, motherhood, work, ministry (I’m a pastor’s wife too), friendship, and life.  It gets tricky.

This is Simplifying…me.

Much like you, there are a few key individuals that help shape this journey: my family.  These are the people that color my life (and many of the pages of this blog).

Joel and I were married on April 21, 2001.  He is my favorite part of the journey…

Sydney is our oldest.  She is full of life, creativity, compassion, and determination.  She is a gift…

Brooklyn is next, child #2.  She is music, dance, laughter, and love.  She is a treasure…

Jackson is last, but certainly not least.  He is strong, passionate, a take charge kind of guy destined to change the world.  He keeps me on my toes…

Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

I like the idea of 25 things
at my age you would not think that would not be a struggle
to list things about myself but it is a challenge, I think I will take the challenge……#11 do you think any woman likes cleaning bathrooms, it is not the cleaning it is the bending and stretching, if I keep it maintained it is very easy. This is my magic tool….arm and hammer clean shower, I spray it after I shower and it is a product that works, it keeps the slime away
