About

Welcome to Simplifying…me.

My name is Amy, and I’ve been about this blogging business since 2009.  Much has changed over the years.  When I started blogging I was a stay-at-home mom with a toddler, preschooler, and a kindergartener.  These days my husband and I are in the high tides of balancing teenagers, homework, sports, and a toddler. It is a crazy kind of good.

While my life has changed, the intent and purpose of this blog has not changed: my desire to grow and become the person God designed me to be.  It’s a process.  It takes time.  There are some posts in here that are inspiring and relatable and there are some that fall flat.  There are those that reflect personal growth, and there are the unfortunate ones that reflect a great deal of insecurity and immaturity (the ones I’d love to delete).  I guess I am slowly growing, slowly finding my voice, and always being stretched.

This is Simplifying…me…

Much like you, there are a few key individuals that help shape this journey: my family.  These are the people that color my life (and many of the pages of this blog).

Slater Family | Fall 2017

Joel and I were married on April 21, 2001.  He is my favorite part of the journey…

And these are ours: Sydney, Brooklyn, Jackson and Jasper.

I like the idea of 25 things
at my age you would not think that would not be a struggle
to list things about myself but it is a challenge, I think I will take the challenge……#11 do you think any woman likes cleaning bathrooms, it is not the cleaning it is the bending and stretching, if I keep it maintained it is very easy. This is my magic tool….arm and hammer clean shower, I spray it after I shower and it is a product that works, it keeps the slime away
